Chemical testing of soil

Soil sample analysis tells you how much contamination is present in your soil. For instance it may contain potentially toxic substances, such as chemicals or metals.

We only accept analytical data from laboratories who are accredited under the MCERTS Chemical Testing of Soil scheme.

Find an accredited laboratory

Laboratories are listed on the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) website. Visit it by clicking on the link below, then enter 'MCERTS' into the search field and choose 'soils'.

Information for laboratories and how to become accredited

Accreditation is carried out by UKAS on our behalf. Laboratories must prove they meet our requirements for the chemical testing of soil.
