Wales has some of the finest waters that are used for many activities such as gorge walking, swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing, rowing, diving and much more. The Welsh Assembly Government is offering up to 100% grants to projects which help people to enjoy the wonderful waters of Wales.
The money is being made available for projects that secure new or improved public access to Wales’ rivers, lakes, canals, reservoirs, and coastal waters for recreational and educational activities.
All capital funds (eg construction costs, equipment costs etc ) have been allocated for 2010/11.
We still have funds available for any revenue projects ( eg training costs) for 2010/11.
We will welcome all Expressions of Interest in the meantime, but any that request Capital funds, will be put on hold and reviewed if funds become available.
We are still waiting on confirmation on the funds for 2011/12 and it is unlikely we will have a decision before October 2010.
