Find out who can apply for Splash funding

Who can apply?

Public and private organisations, voluntary and community groups can apply for a Splash grant - as long as your proposals deliver new or improved public access for water related recreation in Wales.

What is the process?

If you have an idea for a project and would like to find out if it’s eligible or not, please complete the expression of interest form.  All previous applicants should be aware that the grant scheme forms and guidance have been revised for all future applications.

We will let you know within 10 working days whether your project might be eligible for funding.

Before submitting your expression of interest please read the Splash scheme guidance and eligibility criteria.

If we feel that your project might be eligible for a Splash grant, we will then send you an application form and if successful it will be subject to the following terms and conditions. If your are applying for a grant, please ensure you read the terms and conditions before doing so.

A Grant Evaluation Panel, which consists of officers from Welsh Government, Sport Wales, Countryside Council for Wales and Environment Agency Wales, will then consider the application.

The Grant Evaluation Panel will consider all applications against the priorities, as set out in the guidance and eligibility criteria but will also make decision based on value for money, as there is only a limited amount of funding available and we are usually over subscribed with applications.

Grant Evaluation Panel meeting dates

The Panel will be meeting four times during the year to consider the applications. The deadlines to get the application forms back to us are three weeks before the Panel meetings.

    - deadline for application forms 24 June 2011
  • Grant Panel meeting 20 September 2011   
    - deadline for application forms 26 August 2011
  • Grant Panel meeting 16 November 2011   
    - deadline for application forms 21 October 2011
