Who has already benefited from Splash grants?

Find out who in Wales has been allocated money for projects

Since its launch in 2008, over £1 million has been invested to improving access to water recreational activities through Splash grants.

Plas Menai National Watersports Centre

Children taking part in water sports at Plas MenaiThe Plas Menai National Watersports Centre, near Bangor in North Wales, made a successful bid for Splash funding in 2009/10. With the money, they were able to offer local school children the opportunity to take part in water activities for the reduced rate of £5 per session, rather than the full cost of £30.

The short term aim was to get children, who would not otherwise, into water activities. The long term aim is to get some of these children interested enough to join a Watersports Club in the area.

Wye and Usk Foundation

The Wye and Usk Foundation bid for Splash funding in 2009/10 to improve access to the River Wye for canoeists and anglers.

This has not only brought benefits to these groups but also to the local community and farmers.
