Details of our reciprocal visitor licence and the British Waterways Gold Licence.

In addition to each of our regional licences there are a number of other registrations/licences available to boaters.

Reciprocal visitor licence

Each year we offer a free 15 consecutive day licence to visit either our Anglian, Southern or Thames waterways if you currently hold a full annual licence on another of our waterways. Gold licence

The Gold licence is for boaters who spend time on both Environment Agency and British Waterways waters. Gold Licence holders don't need to purchase separate licences from each of the authorities and allows complete access to all Environment Agency and British Waterways waters. A Gold licence lasts for twelve months and is for powered craft only.
